  • While I take great care in producing a beautiful final product I do not edit client body sizes simply on principle. Here are the most common edits my clients can expect:

    • light overall skin smoothing

    • tame hair fly aways or makeup retouch ups

    • take out any distractions from the scene (plugs, outlets)

  • Your photos belong to you, period. You can keep them private, share them on social media, or give me permission to share them. Ultimately, they only go where you are comfortable placing them.

  • This session revolves around your personal preferences and comfort level. You decide the level of risqué in the photos. Typically, the most risqué photos may include nudity but the client is still covered with hands or a sheet.

*I also offer erotica photos, which differ from boudoir, and can be arranged upon request.

Top 5 Myths About Boudoir

  1. I’m not photogenic, I’m too awkward or don’t know how to pose sexy so my photos will suck

One of my absolute favorite things to hear from a client is, "I'm not photogenic." To me, that's an open invitation to exceed their expectations. When someone says that, I often respond with questions like, "Have you ever been photographed by a professional boudoir photographer? Have you experienced the magic of professional lighting, expert posing, and a photographer dedicated to highlighting your beauty?" If not, then those doubts are simply myths. Some of the most transformative experiences come from those who challenge me with their belief that they don't photograph well. It's now my mission to prove just how mistaken they are!

2. I need to lose weight before I do a shoot

As a professional photographer, I have the expertise to highlight your favorite features using professional lighting, poses, and guidance. I also apply these skills to capture the parts of your body that you're still learning to embrace, always with the utmost care and respect. Personally, I cherish a shoot I did when I was about 20 pounds heavier than I am now. Why? Because those images captured the true essence of who I was at that moment. It wasn't about striving to lose weight or trying to attain a long-gone high school physique. It was simply me, embracing and learning to love myself as is. We’ve given far too much energy to the negative self-talk over the years, let’s change the narrative. Can you give yourself permission to love the body that carried you through life's most challenging times, the body that allowed you to survive it all? I don’t know about you but I don’t really love those old photos that remind me of when my body was different than it is now- I’d much prefer to celebrate the reality of my body as it is today.

3. I don’t have anyone to give the photos to so I have no need to get them done

This myth is so backwards I don’t even know where to begin. When clients express interest in doing a shoot for someone else, I admire their generosity, but I'm equally quick to break the news that this experience is really for them. While we can certainly make a beautiful album as a gift, my primary focus is creating stunning artwork for my client to see everyday of their life. I want them to see it so often that there’s never a moment that they can doubt themselves. on my client. To me, they are the most special person in the room. Anyone who views these photos afterward is fortunate! The essence of a Capture Boudoir session is to celebrate the client in their entirety—embracing their inner and outer beauty to the fullest.

4. I have to wear skimpy lingerie and heels

The best thing you can wear is whatever makes you feel like a bombshell. Here’s some examples of the types of outfits we’ve done:

  • combat boots in a tub

  • a big comfy sweater

  • a tie dye shirt and overalls

  • fishnets, shorts and a t-shirt on a Harley

  • converse sneakers, a button down and boy shorts

  • favorite team jersey

  • leather jacket with nothing underneath

  • faux fur and bubbles

  • a bathtub of birthday balloons

Bottom line- it’s not what you wear but how you show your unique self that matters. If you put on a trash bag and it makes you feel like the goddess you are then you bring that bag with you!
